Now Playing: Nothing else in paradise
The definition of the problem is part of the problem and the definition of this blog is no different. I would like to try to present here some of the questions I have encountered in my different researches but in a way which would not be compatible with usual scientific production. Looking around in the huge sea of blogs related to virtual communities and their likes, I would like to proceed in a different way. I will not try to report here technological headlines and news but I'll try to start from the potential social impacts of these in the near future (say 10 years) to explore (deconstruct) them. The founding hypothesis of this blog is that the only technologies which will have a significant impact are the ones which enable the expression of socio-economical needs. In other words, reverse engineering is not valid only for the technical dimension of innovations but should be also extended to their social context. In such a perspective it's important no to single out one single technologies but to try to grasp the interconnected bulk they will represent in every day life. It's also fundamental to take in account the diffusion and social appropriation processes these technologies could follow.... og
